Requirement 1: IELTS
The first and foremost requirement to get a student visa for Canada is having IELTS score above or equal to 6.5 not less than 6.0 each. It is compulsory to have IELTS irrespective of your previous educational qualification and medium fo your education.
Requirement 2: Financial Documents
Financial documents include your GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) which should have 10,000 CAD which Canadian government will give your money back in the form of supportive funds when you will arrive in Canada. As soon as you arrive you will get 1200 CAD and then you will receive 800 CAD/month for the next one year. GIC is also mandatory for everyone.
Requirement 3: Final Offer letter from University
This is the most important document that you just need to get a student visa for Canada. Offer letter or university or college is the proof that you have taken admission in a particular institute and you are selected.
There are two types of Offer letter which a college or university gives to their students. one is a conditional offer letter and final offer letter. Conditional is a kind of letter which represent the holder as a temporary accepted in an institute. Hence conditional offer letter does not represent that the particular student has finalized their seat in an institute.
In order to get a student visa for Canada, one must need Final Offer Letter, NOT conditional offer letter.
Requirement 4: Proof of Accommodation
Proof of accommodation or accommodation letter is must in order to get a Canadian student visa. Accommodation letter is a kind of document which prove that you have a shelter in Canada where you will live in their Country.
If you are going to live in the University's or college's hostel then the university will give an accommodation letter. But if you are going to live Off-campus which means, if you are going to live which your friends or alone or with relatives in any house or apartment then the Landlord or the owner of that house will give you Proof of accommodation.
Proof of accommodation can be a Rental agreement, a legal letter, or any kind of document which will prove that you are going to live at a particular place.
Requirement 5: Universities or Colleges fees receipt
Before you go for visa interview you have to pay fees of the institute and the institute will give you e-receipt of the fees you paid. You have to print that e-receipt and you have to show it in the Embassy of Canada.
Requirement 6: PCC (Police Clearance Certificate)
PCC is a document which proves that you do not have any criminal background and it is must for everyone. You can get PCC same at the place from where you got your passport, hence Passport office issue PCC.
You will not get PCC along with the Passport but you have to take an appointment from the passport office in order to get PCC. You have to go to the Passport office and give them the required documents after that they will issue 2 PCC for you and both will be same.
Requirement 7: Appostilation of Documents
Appostilation is the process where your important documents like Marksheet and PCC will have an attested Stamp on the backside. To have an attested stamp clarifies that your documents are real and original.
Every city does not provide this service of appostilation some major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai etc provides this service. If you do not reside in this city then you can courier your document to office of these cities and can obtain the attested stamp or you can go here in that city and confirm your appostilation. You can choose that way which is more convenient for you.
Requirements 8: Educational Documents
You must need your Marksheets and transcripts and it will be asked in Embassay of Canada. If you are going for bachelors in Canada then you need mark sheet of 12th and 10th and passing certificate if your educational board issue it (Passing certificate is given by your education board along with the result)
If you are going for Masters then you need to show your degree and transcript and university issue your transcript.
Requirement 9: Air-Tickets
Air tickets are must to have and the interviewer in the Embassy will ask you to show. You need the original Air tickets in order to show in Embassy.
Requirement 10: Passport
The first and most foremost document that one must possess is Passport. Because on it only you will have the visa and further immigration stamps.
